FUFA BIG LEAGUE: 10-Man Police Hammer Calvary 4-0 To Move To Third Place And Level On Points With Leaders Kitara FC
10-man Uganda Police Football Club picked up a convincing 4-0 win over Calvary Football Club to get back to winning ways in the StarTimes FUFA Big League clash at Kavuma Recreational Center on Thursday afternoon.
Goals from Hassan Kikoyo and Male Reagan put the Police ahead in the first half while super substitute Nsereko Abdu and Denis Kalanzi were all on target in the second half to hand the hosts the march needed win.
Police FC were reduced to a man down when goalkeeper Davis Mutebi received his marching orders at the stroke of the half time.
The hosts started the better side and got the opener in the 21st minute through Kikoyo who opened his goal scoring account for Police FC from a penalty kick after Tonny Kiwelezi was brought down in the forbidden area.
In the 37th minute Male Reagan doubled the lead for the hosts after brilliantly striking at the far post.
Calvary FC received some boost when Police FC were reduced to 10 men after goalkeeper Davis Mutebi was sent off at the stroke of halftime but that did not stop Police FC to add more following a 2-0 lead in the first stanza.
After the break super substitute Nsereko added the third just few minutes after replacing Hassan Kikoyo before Kalanzi sealed the victory after bagging the fourth goal in the 78 minutes to hand Police FC their 10th win this campaign.
Victory elevates Police FC to the third place on the log with same point as NEC FC and Kitara FC who are in the second and first respectively on 37 points after 19 games while Calvary FC dropped to the sixth place on 27 points after 19 matches.
Both teams are back in action on Thursday 9th March as Police FC visit Kyetume FC at Nakisunga Ssaza Ground while Calvary FC host Ndejje University at Midigo Primary school ground.
