Busoga United jumped out of the relegation zone after a narrow 1-0 home win over struggling UPDF FC in the match played at the FUFA technical center in Njeru on Friday 3rd of March.
Thomas Ochungo was the star man of the day as he broke UPDF FC’s resilience two minutes to the normal time, hence 1-0. This was Busoga United’s first win against UPDF FC in five games since 2018.
The Jinja side who headed to this fixture with a 2-0 away victory over Blacks Power fc are now out of the red zone after moving to 12th on the table with 15 points after 17 matches.
At home Busoga United won three from the nine games but sixth since the start of the season.
The Army side UPDF FC remain winless in four games losing two and drawing two. The last time coach Brian Ssenyondo’s side tested a win was at home against Gaddafi Fc 3-1 on 14th of December last year.
UPDF FC suffered their 9th defeat of the season after 17 matches remaining at 12 points dropping to 13th on the table.
Busoga United next assignment will be on the road to URA FC at Mehta stadium on 19thof March on the next day UPDF FC will be at home Bombo military ground welcoming Soltilo Brighters Fc.
