
PLE Candidate in Uganda U-19 Women Cricket Team to Botswana.
Malisa Ariokot,a student of AMEN Primary School in Soroti is one of the 14 Girls selected to represent Uganda at the First Edition of the ICC U-19 Women World Cup.
The 15-year old youngster who is set to write her Final Primary Leaving Examinations later this year will together with 13 other Players fly out to Gaborone, Botswana to participate in the Qualifiers of the U-19 Women’s World Cup that will be held in South Africa the next year.
The Joyous Malisa who currently trains with Soroti Cricket Team believes that the opportunity handles her a huge task and states,
“I feel so happy because I never knew I could represent the nation at this age but I believe this opportunity will help in driving my career” .
The Right hand bowler who has roots in playing football thinks the call came at a right time and her zeal to achieve success will be a primary point.
“I’ve believed in myself and worked hard so that I achieve all that is achievable, Janet Mbabazi is one of the people that have inspired me and hopefully I also represent the Nation for Various times”.
Malisa Ariokot together with other 13 Players who include Captain Jimia Muhamed,Annet Anume,Patricia Timong,Recheal Achan,Sandra Achwao,Lonah Anyait,Kevin Amuge, Immaculate Nandera,Asumin Akurut,Whitney Nassuna,Naume Mbwali,Proscovia Alako and Agnes Nakakande will represt Uganda in the Qualifiers of the U-19 Women’s World Cup in Gaborone, Botswana from 1st-13th September 2022.

The Team coached by Yusuf Yanga assisted by Ivan Kakande will fly out on Thursday Morning to contest for the only spot in the 8 Teams’ Tournament.
Uganda who are pooled in Group A will bowl off their Campaign against Namibia on 3rd, September ,Play Sierra Leone on the next day before playing hosts Botswana on the 6th day of September at the Botswana Cricket Association Grounds.
