Nile Leopards, Nugsoft Technologies Sign Two-year Sponsorship Deal
Ugandan I.T company Nugsoft Technologies has announced an exciting sponsorship deal with Nile Leopards Rugby Club.
The sponsorship that establishes Nugsoft Technologies as the club’s official sponsor was unvieled on Wednesday 24/08/22 at Capital Lounge in Arua City.
As part of the agreement the partnership will facilitate the development of Rugby in schools, communities and will also digitalize schools to automate their management system.
This deal includes an in-kind worth Twenty Millions Uganda Shillings (20,000,000 UGX) to run rugby development for a period of one-year with option 5o extend for further more years.
Darius Mutasi Business development manager at Nugsoft Technologies said the sponsorship deal is in keeping with Nugsoft’s strong record of supporting the kids since they’re work strongly rotates in that environment.
“We hard from Denis and his team I must say I’m impressed for the work your doing here and we are proud to associate with that.” Mutasi told reporters.
“When they reached out to us they talked about the idea of rugby, rugby in WestNile but what court our attention most was rugby for the kids because our business strongly rotates round where we work and one of those environment is school.”
“So for a person thats going out of there comfort to create an environment that is going to enable a child in school enjoy rugby we really really embrace them and that’s what court our attention when they talked about rugby clinic especially for the kids,” he concluded.
Meanwhile Mr Asiku Dennis aka Denno the president of Nile Leopards Rugby Club applauded Nugsoft Technologies for their sponsorship and promised to promote the company just like any other marketing business.
“I must say I’m grateful for Nugsoft Technologies sponsorship deal and just like any other marketing business there will always be a team and there will always be a strategy to follow for that marketing business,” Dennis told reporters.
“I don’t not think it’s a big issue to talk about how we are going to market the schools but the plan in this partnership is to digitalize the schools.”
For Starters: Nile Leopards Rugby Club is rugby club that is located in Arua City, WestNile Region. The team currently train at Niva Primary School playground and are set to host the historical Hi-seven tournament for the first in Arua this coming Saturday at Ababet GreenLight Stadium.
Nile Leopards Rugby Club came into existence in 2021, under the stewardship of a volunteer president Mr Asiku Dennis and it was the impact of COvid-19 which led to the formation of the club.
In June 2021, Denis decided to use Rugby as a tool to bring girls together and guide them more about career guidance before attracting over 35 girls in the Rugby training and career guidance sessions led by Uganda’s Olympian and WestNile’s promising athletee Shida Leni who spoke more to the girl’s about perfecting thier talents and staying at school.
Denis later requested Uganda Rugby Union to allow his girls play a test match with teams playing in the Northern Region 7s League. His request was granted under one condition of including the boys which he later archived by recruiting some footballers from within local clubs in Arua and trained them the basics of Rugby, and then took both teams for a test match in Lira.
The girls did play 3 games and recorded 2 wins and a single defeat meanwhile the boys played 4 games and lost all, with the biggest defeat coming from Kitgum Lions as they thumbed Nile Leopards 36:0.
Nile Leopardess who didn’t have a brand name managed to finish in the second place of the Northern Regional League tournament, just a point a drift league leaders and champions Kitgum Queens, having won 7 out of 9 of their games as they automatically earned a place in the National womens Tier 2 championship, which happened on 28th November 2021 at Kyadondo Rugby Club where they scooped the third place of the campaign as Onyiru Olive won the individual accolade for the Most Valuable Player.
Meanwhile the Men’s team completed in the 7th place out of 8 teams in the Northern Regional League tournament with two wins out of 10 matches.
