URA FC Defender Signs New Two-Year Deal
Defender Najib Fesali will remain with the Tax Collectors at least until 2024 after agreeing to a contract extension Saturday evening.
Uganda Revenue Authority Football Club defender Najib Fesali has signed a new two-year deal with the club.
The Tax Collectors annouced the development in a statement on Saturday evening with the defender expressing delight at extending his stay two more seasons.
“I joined the team in 2019 and as a new player, it was easy to get into the starting XI. It took me like a month to blend in with my teammates at the time.” Najib told URA FC Website.
“I left the club to join Gaddafi on loan which was in the Big League by then and I must say it helped me a lot. I got some good playing time at Gaddafi and later came back to URA FC where I started games in CAF.”
“I am happy to extend my stay with the club because I know we have a lot more to achieve as a group and I believe in the direction the club is taking.”
“There is a lot of competition at the club but I believe this helps me as a footballer to grow in all aspects of the game. Everyone needs competition to bring the best out of them and I am ready. I cant wait for the new season to kick off,” he concluded.
Najib joined URA FC in 2019 from Kyaggwe on a three-year deal. The defender was later loaned out to Gaddafi FC in the 2020/21 season to get more playing time under his belt.
He returned to URA FC in 2021/22 season and made his mark immediately starting for URA FC in the CAF Confederations match against Ethiopian Coffee SC in both legs including also against Egypts Al Masry SC.
In the StarTimes Uganda Premier League last season Najib Fesali started fourteen league games, as he won two man of match awards, scored a single goal and recieved one yellow card out of the seventeen games he was involved.
