
SHE CRANES’ FINAL 12 NAMED.
The Uganda National Netball Team Head Coach,Fred Mugerwa Kabale has named the Final Twelve Players to represent the Pearl of Africa in the Birmingham Commonwealth games that will start on the 28th July,2022 and end on the 8th of August,2022.
83% of the Players are locally based were as 27% are the usual suspects playing outside the Blacks’ Continent.
The Team that is captained by Goal Shooter and Surrey Storm Star Peace Proscovia has Lightning Loughborough tower Mary Cholhok Nuba. “On Monday we came up with the list, we selected the players based on their performance and the coordination they had in the training, we believe they are going to give us the best”, stated Coach Fred Mugerwa.
The She Cranes entered residential camp on Monday in Nakirebe,Mpigi and are expected to set off to Birmingham on the 20th July 2022. Uganda are pooled in Group B and will KickStart their campaign against New Zealand on 30th July before playing Trinidad & Tobago, England, Northern Ireland and Malawi in the Next Five days. Coach Fred Mugerwa hopes the team will bank on their recent performance after winning the Pent Series and finishing runners-up in the Africa Netball Championships.
Recently,The Uganda Netball Federation President barked at the National Council of Sports General Secretary pointing to misappropriation of funds to the team and this motivational factor can be the only hinderance to stop the girls on court from putting up a statement.
