
OFFICIAL: Police FC Appoint New Head Coach
Uganda Police Football Club have confirmed the appointment of Inspector of Police (IP) Angelo Lonyesi as their new head coach as they start preparations for life in the 2022/23 FUFA Big League season.
Lonyesi succeeds Abdallah Mubiru who was asked to step aside with five games to wind-up the previous campaign.
The CAF A licensed gaffer was officially confirmed in a press release on Friday evening.
“We are delighted to announce that Inspector of Police (IP) Angelo Lonyesi is our head coach on a one-year renewable contract,” reads part of a press release signed by club CEO RTD CP P.K Arinaitwe.

He will work alongside CPL Iga David and Kanene Faisal as his assistant and goalkeepers coach respectively with the major task of returning the club to where it belongs, in the Uganda Premier League.”
Lonyesi isn’t new around the Cops camp having coached the side in the Uganda Premier League campaign of 2014/2015 and for this stint, he has just been elevated for the Junior side that he was commanding last season.
