SUPL MD25 WRAP: VIPERS MOVE 9 POINTS CLEAR, MBARARA CITY & UPDF RETURN TO WINNING WAYS
There were wins for Vipers SC, Mbarara City and UPDF FC during their various StarTimes Uganda Premier League encounters played on Tuesday 12/04/2022.
URA FC 0-3 Vipers SC:
Vipers Sports Club thrashed Uganda Revenue Authority Football Club 3-0 at Arena of Visions in Ndejje to move nine points clear at the top of the log.
Skipper Halid Lwaliwa, Ceaser Manzoki and Yunus Sentamu were all on target for the Venoms who registered their 17th win of the season.
Victory means Vipers extended their lead at the to of the log to 55 points from 23 games while URA FC remained in the third place of the log with 43 points from 25 games.
The Venoms are back in action on Saturday 16th April 22 as they visit KCCA FC at Phillip Omondi Stadium. The Tax Collectors meanwhile will visit Police FC at Phillip Omondi Stadium on Saturday 23rd April 22 in their next encounter.
Mbarara City FC 3-0 Police FC:
Elsewhere, Mbarara City FC returned to their winning ways after defeating Police FC 3-0 at Kakyeka Stadium in Mbarara City.
Kacancu Gadaffi opened the scoring for the Ankole Lions from a spot-kick after Henry Kitegenyi was fouled in the box in the first-half before Sadat Nsubuga and Henry Musisi rounded up the score in the second-half to hand Ankole Lions their first win in 2022.
The result means Mbarara City remained in the 2nd from the bottom of the log with 22 points after 25 points just 2 points adrift Police FC who are above relegation zone with 24 points from 25 games.
The Ankole Lions are in action on Friday 22nd when they visit SC Villa at FUFA Technical Center while Police FC host URA FC the next day in their next encounter.
Busoga United 0-2 UPDF FC:
Lastly Uganda Peoples Defense Force Football Club got their campaign back on track after crushing Busoga United 2-0 at Kakindu Municipal Stadium
Second-half goals from Adriko Rogers and Ibrahim Wammanah handed the Army sides their 7th win of the season.
Victory means UPDFC FC temporarily leapfrogged Gadaffi FC in the 8th place of the log with 30 points after 25 points while Busoga United are in the 1th place of the log with 26 points from 25 games.
Both teams are back in action on Tuesday 19th 22 as Busoga United visit Arua Hill SC at Barifa Stadium while UPDF FC host Tooro United at Bombo Military Barracks Stadium.
