Shaban Bags Brace As Onduparaka Beat Express To Continue Good Form
West Nile Jumbos Onduparaka Football Club continued their fine form in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League after defeating Express FC 2-0 at Betway Mutessa II stadium Wankulukuku on Friday evening.
Goal machine Muhammad Shaban scored in either sides of the clash as Onduparaka FC recorded their 9th win of the season.
The Caterpillars started superbly and deservedly took the lead on three minutes when Muhammad Shaban maximized Joel Mutakubwa’s error to find the back of the net for a 1-0 lead
Eric Kambale should have leveled matters for Express FC but his effort was well saved by Caterpillars’custodian Mathias Muwanga in the 16th minute.
Kambale also came close to leveling matters when his brilliant header off Arthur Kiggundu’s delivery was well saved by custodian Mathias Muwanga in the added minutes of the break.
The score was 1-0 in favor of Onduparaka FC at the interval.

Five minutes from the break Muhammad Shaban completed his own brace and the second for the Caterpillars after striking from Emmanuel Oketch’s cross for his 15th goal of the season.
Seven minutes later Eric Kambale could have pulled one back but his header from John Byamukama’s corner went over the cross.
Moments later Denis Ojara denied Kambale from pulling one back after stopping his effort at goal line.
With 10 minutes left to the stoppage time, Onduparaka’s Technical Director Dudu Bosco was sent off by referee Mashmood Ssali for protesting on multiple fouls made on Muhammad Shaban.
However, Dudu’s charges remained resolute until the final whistle to claim a fifth consucative win and their 9th victory of the season.
The result saw Onduparaka FC move to the 8th place of the log with 33 points from 25 games whilst Express FC remained in the 6th place of the log with 42 points from 26 games.
