Express 2-1 Police: Express FC Rally From Behind To End Winless Run And Hand James Odoch His First Win
Express Football Club rallied from a goal down to beat Police FC 2-1 in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League Matchday23 encounter played at Wankulukuku Stadium on Tuesday evening.
A first-half goal from George Senkaaba and an own goal from George Kiryowa in the second-half saw Express FC returned to their winning ways.
Tonny Mawejje scored a consolation goal for Police FC who suffered their 9th defeat of the season.
Just five minutes from kickoff, the visitors were delt a major blow when their custodian Abdul Kimera failed to shake off an injury after landing awkwardly on his right shoulder and was replaced by Tom Ikara.
The Cops took the lead just after twelve minutes when Juma Balinya set up captain Tony Mawejje who fired past Express FC custodian Otim for a 1-0 lead.

Express should have leveled matters through Eric Ssenjobe who narrowly missed to score in his own net as his effort was saved by custodian Tom Ikara in the 35th minute.
George Senkaaba restored parity for Express FC when he headed home from a corner-kick cross in the 45+3 minutes to settle for a 1-1 draw at the interval.
Express went into the lead just six minutes after half-time when George Kiryowa scored in the back of his own net as Express FC held on to beat Police FC 2-1.
Victory means Express FC remained in the 6th place of the log with 36 points from 23 games while Police FC are in the 10th place with 24 points from 23 matches.
The result also eased the pressure on interim manager James Odoch who registered his first win after five games in charge of the Red Eagles since replacing Wasswa Bbosa.
