
Vipers 3-1 Arua Hill: Venoms Thrash Kongolo Boys To Extend Lead At The Top Of The Log.
Vipers Sports Club moved 4 points clear at the top of the log following a 3-1 victory over Arua Hill Sports Club at St Mary’s Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Ceasor Manzoki, Milton Karisa and Yunus Ssentamu scored for the Venoms while Gadafi Wahab bagged a consolation goal for Arua Hill SC.
There was nothing much happening after first 9 minutes of the kickoff, but it was Vipers SC who were dominant in the game.
22 minute from the kickoff, Milton Karisa and Yunus Sentamu had already missed chances for the Venoms.
Alfred Leku came close to opening the lead but his effort was well saved by Vipers’ custodian by Mutombora.
The first stanza ended goalless as both sides struggled to create clear-cut goalscoring chances.
Five minutes from break Ceasor Manzoki broke the deadlock for the Venoms with a cool strike for a 1-0 lead.
Yunus Ssentamu should have doubled the lead for the hosts but his effort was well saved by Arua Hill’s custodian Anyama Richard in the 58 minutes.
Milton Karisa doubled the lead for the Venoms following a delivery from Ceasor Manzoki for 2-0 lead in 72nd minutes.
Moments later Gadafi Wahab pulled one back for the Kongolo Boys with a brilliant Volley from Atendele Geriga’s delivery for a 2-1 lead.
But Yunu Ssentamu sealed the victory with a solo effort for a 3-1 just 9 minutes to the stoppage time as Vipers SC held on to it remaining minutes to register their 12th win of the season.
Victory means Vipers SC moved to 39 points just 4 points above KCCA FC who have a game to play tomorrow against Mbarara City. Arua Hill SC meanwhile dropped to 6th place of the log with 28 points after 17 games.
Vipers are back in action on Friday 18th Feb 2022 away to UPDF FC at Bombo Barracks Stadium while Arua Hill SC host BUL FC on Wednesday 16th Feb 2022 at Barifa Stadium.
