Westnile – The race to the 2021/22 title has shifted into yet another gear, with a host of games left to play across all the two zones with Nyagak zone having 12 teams and Nile zone having 11 teams of westnile’s top-flight league.
To many keen observers, the battle for the title is constricted to the top three sides, Nebbi Central, Arua city fc and Paidah Black Angels in Nyagak zone and in Nile zone its quiet easy with Araka fc commanding the Table followed by Koboko Rising Stars, Adjumani Town Council and Kochi Urban all proving to fight for the first spot.
But if you zoom in closely, you will realise that Paidah Black Angeles are not far behind and so you would be mistaken to rule them out of the chase for the top honours as they still have got a pending game to play and carries huge pedigree in Nyagak zone while in Nile zone Araka football club seems to be the most popular side with consistent performance and winnings.
The Black Angels(20), in second on equal points with Nebbi Central are adrift of leaders Nebbi Central at (20) due to 4 goal difference ,with Paidah Black Angeles having game at hand.
It may appear a three-horse race to the prize in Nyagak zone, but if history is to dictate the destiny of the title, it remains a two-way contest between one time champions Paidah Black Angeles and Nebbi Central football club and where else in Nile Zone it appears like second time weatnile Regional league entrance Araka football club, who have stayed in the league for close to 3years are favorites to finish on of the log in their group (Nile Zones).
Back to the standings, the contest at the foot of the table is as tight as it is at the top.
It is desperation times for the likes of Kati United, Mvara boys, Tiger Stars and Alpha Rising Stars in Nyagak zone where else in Nile zone Young Tigers,Odramachaku fc,BK City and Vurra football club are clubs anchoring the table in that order from each zone as they battle for safety in the relegation zone.
