Ssenyonjo Bags Hat-trick As Wakiso Gaints Send Kyetume FC Packing From Stanbic Uganda Cup
Wakiso Gaints Football Club have knocked out Kyetume Football Club from Stanbic Uganda Cup Round 32 as they beat them 5-2 at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium on Tuesday afternoon.
Sam Ssenyonjo bagged a hat-trick while skipper Hassan Ssenyonjo and Tom Masiko were all on targets for the Purple Sharks who thrashed away the Slaughters to progress to the Stanbic Uganda Cup round 16.
Ezra Bida scored as a brace but those were not enough for Kyetume FC as they bowed out of the tournament.
Sam Ssenyonjo scored two quick goals for Wakiso Gaints in the early stages of the clash for 2-0 lead just 3 minutes from kickoff.
Moments later Ezra Bida pulled one back for the visitors as Wakiso Gaints took a 2-1 lead at the interval.
After the break skipper Hassan Ssenyonjo restored Wakiso Gaints’ two-goal lead as scored his first goal of the season for the Purple Sharks.
Sam Ssenyonjo then completed his own hat-trick and the fourth one for Wakiso Gaints FC before Ezra Bida pulled one back for Kyetume FC from a spot kick for a 4-2 lead in the 71 minutes.
Seven minutes to the clock, Tom Masiko put the game to bed after finding the back of the net to settle for a 5-2 win.
Victory means Wakiso Gaints joins UPDF FC the other Uganda Premier League side that reach the round of 16 of the 2021/22 Stanbic Uganda Cup.
