Ssekulima On Target As Busoga United Beat Express To Move Out Of Relegation Zone
Busoga United Football Club moved off the foot of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League table with a 1-0 win over Express Football Club at Kakindu Municipal Stadium on Friday evening.
Busoga United made a positive start in the opening exchanges and threatened the lead from a a free-kick by Ngonde Elvis but Ngalo Fedrick missed after heading wide just 16 minutes from kickoff.
Moments later Ssekulima Paul broke the deadlock for Busoga United with a wonderful strike from outside the box area.
It was 1-0 in favor of Busoga United at the interval.
The second half saw little clear-cut chances, though Express Football Club enjoyed the better part of the openings.
The Red Eagles threatened in the later stages of the game as Lwesibawa unleashed a shot that was well intercepted by Bithum Douglas as Busoga United held on for a 1-0 win.
The victory means Busoga United moved out of the relegation zone with 17 points while Express FC are in the 5th place of the log with 29 points after 18 games.
