Tooro United 1-1 SC Villa: Jogoos Drop Points Again
Sports Club Villa once again dropped points after throwing away a 1-goal lead to settle for a 1-1 draw against Tooro United Football Club at Buhinga Stadium on Wednesday evening.
The Jogoos are now winless in their last six StarTimes Uganda Premier League matches as they were held by the Roaring Lions.
South Sudan’s international center back Bernard Agele broke the deadlock for Sports Club Villa in the early stages of the show-piece.
Agele opened his goal scoring account for Jogoos after brilliantly heading home past Tooro’s goalkeeper Kenneth Lukyamuzi off Davis Ssekajja corner kick delivery in the third minute of the game for a 1-0.
Tooro United then managed to produce a comeback as they dominated the possession and should have leveled matters through Muhammad Nsereko whose effort went wide went.
The score was 1-0 in favor of Sports Club Villa at the interval.
After the break Mohammed Nsereko leveled matters for Tooro United from a spot kick for a 1-1 draw.
Benson Muhindo missed a chance to put the visitors ahead after failing to head home Bernard Agele’s delivery as both sides settled for a share of spoils.
The draw means SC Villa remained in the 11th place of the log with 18 points after 18 games while Tooro United are dwelling at the bottom of the log with 9 points after 18 games.
Tooro United are back in action on Saturday 26 Feb 2022 as they host Arua Hill SC at Buhinga Stadium. SC Villa meanwhile will host Express FC at FUFA Technical Center on Friday 4th March 2022 in their next encounter.
