Maroons FC Fly Into Stanbic Uganda Cup Round 16 With A 3-0 Win Over Ateker FC

Maroons Football Club advanced to the next round of the Stanbic Uganda Cup after hammering fourth division side Ateker FC 3-0 at Soroti City Stadium on Friday afternoon.

First half brace from Amaku Fred and a second half goal from Abraham Tusubira saw the Prisoners thrash away Ateker FC.

Following a fairly low start, Maraoons FC were in front as they opened the scoring in the 25th minute through Amaku Fred.

Three minutes later Amaku completed his own brace and the second goal for Maroons FC.

The score was 2-0 in favor of Maroons at the interval.

After the break the hosts tried to pull a goal back but they were denied by Maroons’ custodian Nalugoda Amir.

Six minutes to the stoppage time, Abraham Tusubira added the third for Maroons FC who comfortably held on to settle for a 3-0 win.

Victory means Maroons FC are through to the Last 16 of Stanbic Uganda Cup while Ateker FC are out of the show-piece.
