Gaddafi Complete Double Over Mbarara City FC
Gaddafi Football Club completed a StarTimes Uganda Premier League double over Mbarara City FC, defeating the Ankole Lions 1-0 at Gaddafi Barracks on Sunday evening.
Waiswa Andrew scored the only goal of the clash to hand the Soldier Boys their 6th win of the season.
After a goalless draw at the interval, Mbarara City were reduced to a man down after Solomon Okwalinga received his marching orders for a second bookable offense on Ssebutinde Charles.
Gaddafi skipper Wasswa netted from the spot after Bate was fouled by Mbarara City FC defender Bamba Soulymane in the 90+7 minutes.
In the wake of the win, Gaddafi FC leapfrogged UPDF FC in the 8th place of the log with 24 points from 18 games whilst Mbarara City are in the 3rd place from the bottom of the log with 16 points after 18 games.
Gaddafi FC are back in action on Tuesday 8th March 2022 as they host Express FC at Gaddafi Barracks Stadium while Mbarara City FC host URA FC at Kakyeka Stadium on Friday 4th March 2022.
