Express fc has sacked coach Wasswa Bbosa.
Express FC has fired Championship-winning coach Wasswa Bbosa.
The development was confirmed on Monday afternoon in a statement that reads,
“Express would like to confirm that Wasswa Bbosa is leaving his role as head coach with immediate effect.”
The club would like to thank Bbosa for his dedication and memories most notable of those include winning the Uganda Premier league for the first time in 12 years and the CECAFA Kagame Cup.”
An extraordinary meeting was held on Sunday, 13th February that agreed to relieve the man who led Express to their seventh league title of his duties. He led Express FC to a first league title in nine years, and a historic first CECAFA Kagame Cup in 2021.
Bbosa has not been in good terms with his boss – club CEO Isaac Mwesigwa
His sacking was catalyzed by the last two results – draws with struggling Soltilo Bright Stars and relegation-threatened Tooro United.
Express FC are now off the title pace and occupy the fifth slot on the table with 29 points – a month 10 points behind leaders Vipers and seven off second-placed KCCA.
This is the second time that Bbosa, a former holding midfielder at Express FC, is unceremoniously shown the exit as the boss at Wankulukuku based side.
The club as confirmed that James Odoch who has been working as Bbosa’s assistant will take over on Interim basis. He will be assisted by Daniel Kiwanuka.
