Bevis Mugabi: Uganda Cranes Defender Signs New Motherwell Deal
Scottish Premiership side Motherwell Football Club have confirmed the extension of Bevis Mugabi ‘s contract for a further two years.
Uganda Cranes defender Bevis Mugabi has signed a new contract with the Steelmen until 2024.
Motherwell’s boss Graham Alexander released the following statements on the club’s official website on Friday evening.
“We’re delighted that Bevis has committed himself to us for the next two seasons,” Graham Alexander said as quoted by the club website.
“He’s been a constant in our team, and even though we have seen a great improvement from him over the last 12 months, we still believe there’s more to come from him.”
“He’s a great character to have at our club and he wants to win.”
The Central defender joined Motherwell in September 2019, initially on a short term deal and subsequently established himself as a regular stater.
He established himself as a key figure for the claret and amber making 62 appearances and scored a total of 6 goals for his club since 2019.
At the international level, he has appeared 10 times since his debut in 2018 and was part of the squad that played at the 2019 AFCON tournament in Egypt.
Mugabi was born in Harrow, London to Ugandan parents, Mugabi is a graduate of the famous Southampton academy and played alongside players like Luke Shaw and James Ward Prowse during his youth team day
